ANALISIS GAYA KEPEMIMPINAN KEPALA SEKOLAH TERHADAP MANAJEMEN BERBASIS SEKOLAH

Abstract

Leadership in schools is an effort to move other people or those being led to work together towards a goal that is mutually desired and considered important. Leadership in School-Based Management requires a school leadership style, which is a person's characteristic of influencing other people or organizations, so that other people are willing and able to move and emulate their personal attitudes and character towards achieving goals. The aim of this research is to look at the leadership style of the principal of SDN 14 Pekanbaru towards school-based management (MBS). This research method uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation. The results of the research show that the leadership style of the principal of SDN 14 Pekanbaru in SBM tends to or is more dominant in using the group/team leadership style applied in school management. This leadership style leads to efforts made by the principal to improve the performance of teachers and education staff and the quality of the school including, empowerment (involving school personnel in coaching/meetings, involvement in decision making, delegation of tasks/orders, school activities), developing the competence of teachers and education personnel (participating in training[1]training, coaching, upgrading, workshops, teacher supervision by school principals and school supervisors, supervision of education staff, utilizing group organizations related to education), providing motivation for teachers and education staff, as well as giving awards to teachers and education staff.
